Violets Are Violet

This post is all about my baby girl. I realize I haven't really written much about what she's up to in the stage of her life, and I really don't want to look back and regret not taking down some memories. She really is the light of my life right now. Even on hard days. It gets to be evening and she's snuggled up under my arm for her last feeding and falls asleep on my chest and I have yet to experience anything more tender then it. I love her.

She's almost walking. She's so close to taking her first step. She does an amazing job of scooting around all the walls and reaching from one chair, to the table leg, to the next chair leg and it's really cute. She's conquered the stairs at my parents house several times and the way she does it amazes me. Instead of using her knees to get up, she stretches up her whole foot (basically doing the splits) and then pulls herself up on that leg with her two arms holding onto the following step. I can't believe she does it this way. She really is so strong. We haven't quite taught her how to go down the stairs, but we'll have to work on that more diligently because she's becoming hard to keep pace with these days. She has such a funny personality. The other day I realized none of my pairs of socks had matches. After looking around for a few minutes I discovered a stash underneath her crib! My little one has been smuggling little bits and pieces there and I think it's hilarious.

The other day we were all laying on our bed. She pulled up her daddy's shirt and discovered his belly button.  Then I guess today while she was out at my parents house she was trying to find her grandma's belly button. Then Susanna's, then Talisa's. It was pretty funny. She still hasn't tried to find mine which I think is interesting, and when I tried to show her that she had her own she couldn't see it over the peak of her baby belly pudge. Soon though.. Soon.

She started throwing tantrums, Well, if you could call them that. The other day my mom tapped her very lightly on the head while adjusting herself on the couch and Violets topples over in the most dramatic way possible, proceeds to flail around on the floor whining for someone to pick her up. This went on for a good 10-15 minutes. When Talisa walked in she brightened up and smiled, and even chatted with her a little bit but refused to roll over and sit up on her own. I feel like it was a test. And yes, I passed. Eventually I think she grew tired of being on the floor and slowly made her way into her crawl position. We all had a really good laugh. She does this at home with me when no one else is around. I'll be up on my bed doing my make up or reading a book, looking at Pinterest, whatever.. and she'll crawl to the end of the bed and whine and whine. I tell her all she has to do is walk her little baby body over to wear I am at the other end of the bed and I'll grab her to come be on the bed with me. She fights it for awhile, but then eventually breaks down and makes her way over to me.

It's quite the adventure  with her lately. Seems like she learns something new every day and I feel like time is slipping threw all the cracks. I've been trying to take her different places every day. Just put her in the stroller and walk around some store. I think one of her favorite places right now is Hobby Lobby. We stay in the wind chime area for a good amount of time... it's cute.

More later, I'm tired.
