Red Coat

*Inhale*
*Exhale*

This afternoon has turned out to be exactly what I think both Violet and I needed. I wish Cristian could have come, he's a hard worker and does a very good job of taking care of us. Work is pretty stressful though, he could have used some fresh mountain air, fall leaves, and some sunshine I think.
Violet and I went on an adventure up the Stokes Nature Trail in the canyon. I thought perhaps all the reds, oranges, and yellows would be gone from the leaves....but we were lucky. It's still beautiful autumn up there. We walked (slowly) up the trail because Violet had to try and pick up every rock and leaf along the road.

She'd stop in one area for awhile, then pick up everything she could from that spot and move on to another. She ventured off onto smaller trails and tried climbing up after me. This didn't turn out, she ended up rolling about 2 feet down the hill into that pile of dirt and leaves you can see in the picture below. She didn't cry, just stayed down the and played in the dirt and leaves (go figure).

I tried taking a few photos of us, and this was the best one I got, so not the day for that I guess. She's pretty cute though looking at whatever it is that's in the distance.

Walking back down the trail we stopped at one of the picnic areas and had some lunch, and played by the water for a  bit. This is when I saw that look in her eye. The one that says "I am going to pass out any second". And she did. I was carrying her down to the car and she fell asleep in my arms, and now is snuggled up in bed while I blog. It felt good to get out in the mountains and spend time away from all the noise.

We need to be out as much as we can.
Snow is coming, and while that will be adventure also, I'm really digging fall..
Here's a video of Violet walking on the wood bench. She was just SO proud of herself :D
